Short explanation
Fleet before 4.89.0 contains an unbounded recursion vulnerability in Apple MDM enrollment property list parsing. Unauthenticated attackers can send crafted binary plist payloads to enrollment endpoints to crash the server and exhaust CPU and memory resources.
This vulnerability allows remote attackers to perform denial of service attacks without requiring authentication. Resource exhaustion can lead to complete service disruption.
What should be done?
- Update Fleet to version 4.89.0 or later
- Follow vendor advisories
- Monitor network traffic on enrollment endpoints

Chain of evidence and sources
Fleet 4.89.0 öncesi sürümler, Apple MDM kayıt özellik listesi ayrıştırma işleminde sınırsız özyineleme zaafiyeti barındırmaktadır.
Kimlik doğrulaması gerektirmeyen saldırganlar, yaklaşık 150 baytlık ikili plist yükleri ile sunucu kaynaklarını tüketebilir.
Show the technical text from the sources
Fleet before 4.89.0 contains an unbounded recursion vulnerability in Apple MDM enrollment property list parsing that allows unauthenticated attackers to crash the server. Attackers can send a crafted binary plist payload of about 150 bytes to the enrollment endpoints, triggering exponential allocation or infinite recursion that exhausts CPU and memory.
