Short explanation
A length validation defect exists in the HllObjectUnpack() function within openGauss-server, allowing normal database connection users to trigger a heap out-of-bounds write on the server side.
Authenticated normal users can exploit this flaw to cause memory corruption, potentially affecting server integrity and availability.
What should be done?
- Add lenUsed <= lenTotal validation in HllObjectUnpack()
- Update the memcpy_s() target size to lenTotal
- Follow vendor advisories and apply patches
Chain of evidence and sources
HllObjectUnpack() fonksiyonundaki eksik uzunluk doğrulaması sınır dışı yazmaya yol açar.
Normal veritabanı bağlantı kullanıcıları bu açığı istismar edebilir.

在 openGauss-server 的 src/gausskernel/cbb/utils/hll/hll.cpp 中,内置函数 HllObjectUnpack() 存在长度校验缺陷。 hll_in()、hll_print()、hll_cardinality() 等 SQL 入口会走同一解包路径。 此问题随 packed HLL 解包函数 HllObjectUnpack() 进入代码,v2.1.0 起即存在。
