Short explanation
n8n contains an authorization bypass vulnerability in the agent chat resume endpoint. This flaw allows authenticated project members to list other members' private conversations and approve pending tool calls.
The authorization bypass flaw compromises data privacy by enabling unauthorized access to private conversations and triggering unapproved tool calls within the victim's session.
What should be done?
- Review vendor advisory documents.
- Follow updates according to official guidance.
Chain of evidence and sources
n8n, 2.41.4 ve 2.42.0 öncesi sürümlerde ajan sohbeti devam ettirme uç noktasında yetkilendirme atlatma zafiyeti barındırmaktadır.
Uç nokta, askıya alınan kontrol noktasının çağırana ait olduğunu doğrulamadan istek gövdesindeki bir çalıştırma tanımlayıcısını kabul eder.
Kimliği doğrulanmış proje üyeleri özel görüşmeleri okuyabilir ve bekleyen araç çağrılarını onaylayabilir.
Show the technical text from the sources
n8n before 2.41.4 and 2.42.0 contains an authorization bypass in the agent chat resume endpoint, which accepts a run identifier from the request body without verifying that the suspended checkpoint belongs to the caller. Authenticated project members can list and read other members' private agent conversations through project-scoped endpoints, then approve their pending tool calls, causing the tools to execute and write results into the victim's conversation.
