Short explanation

The MxChat – AI Chatbot & Content Generation for WordPress plugin up to version 3.2.25 is vulnerable to stored DOM-based cross-site scripting via the 'feedback' parameter. This flaw allows unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts.

Why does it matter?

This unauthenticated vulnerability allows attackers to inject malicious payloads that execute automatically whenever an administrator loads the Transcripts page.

What should be done?

  • Follow the vendor advisory
  • Keep the plugin updated
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

MxChat – AI Chatbot & Content Generation for WordPress sürümleri 3.2.25 ve öncesi 'feedback' parametresi üzerinden saklanan DOM tabanlı XSS zafiyetine karşı savunmasızdır.

Kimlik doğrulaması olmayan saldırganlar admin-ajax.php adresine tek bir POST isteği göndererek yük yazabilir.

Show the technical text from the sources

The MxChat – AI Chatbot & Content Generation for WordPress plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored DOM-Based Cross-Site Scripting via the 'feedback' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 3.2.25 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. The stored payload is written by any unauthenticated visitor via a single POST to admin-ajax.php and detonates automatically when any administrator next loads the Transcripts page.
