Short explanation

CVE-2026-109131 is a stored XSS vulnerability in the ansible-ui component of Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform 2. It stems from the Hub collection module documentation renderer failing to restrict unsafe URL schemes.

Why does it matter?

When authenticated users view and activate a malicious link in the collection documentation page, it can cause scripts to execute within the same origin.

What should be done?

  • Follow the relevant vendor security advisories
  • Review official sources for patch status
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

CVE-2026-109131 zafiyeti AAP 2.6 ve 2.7 sürüm dallarında mevcuttur.

Zafiyet, Hub koleksiyon modülü dokümantasyon oluşturucusunda formatPartURL işlevinin URL protokollerini kısıtlamamasından kaynaklanır.

Show the technical text from the sources

The Hub collection module documentation renderer in the unified Ansible Automation Platform UI (built from upstream ansible-ui, frontend/hub) renders a documentation URL part (formatPartURL in DocumentationParsers.tsx) as a link without restricting the URL protocol/scheme. A collection whose documentation contains a link using a script-executing URL scheme can therefore cause script to run in the same origin as the Hub UI when another authenticated user views and activates that link in the collection documentation page. This is a stored cross-site scripting issue in shipped Platform UI code (present in the AAP 2.6 and 2.7 release branches).

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
