Short explanation

CVE-2026-108388 in Indico allows restricted metadata disclosure due to incorrect handling of users during inherited event contribution management permission checks.

Why does it matter?

A low-privileged user can induce a privileged user to request a crafted legacy contribution export, causing sensitive speaker or author emails and access control entries to be stored in an API cache retrievable with less privilege.

What should be done?

  • Follow vendor advisories to review updates
  • Verify the installed Indico version
  • Apply guidance provided in official security notifications
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

Show the technical text from the sources

Indico is a feature-rich event management system. Indico 3.3.3 through 3.3.13 incorrectly uses the ambient web-session user instead of the user supplied to Contribution.can_manage when checking inherited event contribution-management permission. A low-privileged user can induce a privileged user to request a crafted legacy contribution export and cause speaker or author email addresses and contribution access-control entries to be stored in an API cache entry retrievable with less privilege. This issue was fixed in Indico 3.3.14.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
