Short explanation

Apache Cocoon contains a use of cache containing sensitive information vulnerability that leads to cross-user cache poisoning [S0]. When using cache in a multi-user application, cached values for one user could be served to other users [S0]. As the project is retired, no fix version is planned [S0].

Why does it matter?

It matters because it can lead to cross-user data leakage in multi-user environments [S0]. Since the project is retired, no official patch will be released [S0].

What should be done?

  • Find an alternative solution [S0]
  • Restrict access to the instance to trusted users [S0]
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims
