Short explanation

HCL BigFix Platform is affected by an intermediate CA certificate bundle issue when using Mozilla CA certificate bundles dated before 2026/10/20. This allows an on-path attacker to impersonate servers and tamper with downloaded files.

Why does it matter?

On-path attackers can impersonate remote servers and tamper with files downloaded by the application, leading to confidentiality and integrity breaches.

What should be done?

  • Using certificate bundle version 2026/10/20 or later
  • Using BES Support v1520 or later
  • Following the vendor advisory
Note on uncertainty

The sources give limited detail on some technical conditions. Review the chain of evidence below before deciding how to act.

Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

HCL BigFix Platform, 2026/10/20 tarihinden önceki Mozilla CA sertifika demetlerini kullanmaktadır.

On-path bir saldırgan uzak sunucuları taklit edebilir ve indirilen dosyaları değiştirebilir.

Show the technical text from the sources

BigFix Platform uses Mozilla CA certificate bundle (PEM). Versions of the bundle dated before 2026/10/20 still trust certificates whose private keys have been compromised. When BigFix Platform validates servers using such a bundle, an on-path attacker can impersonate remote servers and tamper with files downloaded by the application. The issue is resolved by using bundle version 2026/10/20 or later. The fixed bundle is available starting from BES Support v1520.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
