Short explanation

Improper certificate validation vulnerability in Szafir allows HTTPS connections without remote server authentication.

Why does it matter?

Attackers can provide arbitrary SSL/TLS certificates and cause the application to download update files from their server.

What should be done?

  • Follow vendor advisory notices
  • Update the Szafir application
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

Szafir, sertifika ve ana bilgisayar adı doğrulaması yapmadan her türlü istemci veya sunucu sertifikasını kabul etmektedir.

Bir saldırgan rastgele bir SSL/TLS sertifikası sağlayarak uygulamanın kendi sunucusundan güncelleme dosyası indirmesini sağlayabilir.

Show the technical text from the sources

Szafir accepts any client or server certificate without performing certificate and hostname validation, allowing HTTPS connections without authenticating the remote server. An attacker can provide an arbitrary SSL/TLS certificate and cause the application to download an update file from their server. This issue was fixed in version 2.0 build 708.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
