Short explanation

The Tapo Cloud MQTT proxy contains a server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability due to insufficient input validation of user-controlled host values. This flaw allows an attacker to cause the Tapo Cloud service to send requests to an attacker-controlled server. Successful exploitation may expose internal information and cause potential distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) conditions.

Why does it matter?

This vulnerability allows the Tapo Cloud service to route requests to malicious destinations, leading to internal information exposure and potential service disruptions.

What should be done?

  • Follow vendor security advisories and updates
  • Monitor network traffic and proxy requests
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

Tapo Cloud MQTT proxy bileşeni, kullanıcı kontrollü host değerini yeterli girdi doğrulaması olmadan kabul eder.

Başarılı istismar, iç bilgilerin ifşa olmasına ve olası dağıtık hizmet engelleme (DDoS) durumuna yol açabilir.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
