Short explanation

Identified in Node.js, CVE-2026-105481 arises from a flaw in HTTP Agent connection reuse that causes a client to accept a response sent before the client sent the request [S0]. This is an incomplete fix for CVE-2026-48931 [S0].

Why does it matter?

This vulnerability can cause incorrect response mappings in affected Node.js applications, potentially leading to data integrity violations and confidentiality breaches [S0].

What should be done?

  • Monitor official Node.js security advisories
  • Treat patch status as inconclusive and proceed with caution
  • Apply updates provided by the vendor
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

Show the technical text from the sources

A flaw in Node.js HTTP Agent connection reuse can cause a client to accept as valid a response that was sent before the client has sent the request. This is an incomplete fix of CVE-2026-48931. The guard that destroys idle keep-alive sockets when unexpected data arrives only runs when the event loop polls for I/O. If an unsolicited response has already reached the socket but has not been read yet when the socket is handed to a new request, for example because the event loop was busy with synchronous work, the guard is removed without seeing it and the data is parsed as the response to the new request. This vulnerability affects Node.js **26.x**, **24.x**, and **22.x**.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
