Short explanation

In Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved platforms, the routing protocol daemon (rpd) crashes when it receives an EVPN route update containing a malformed SRv6 structure from a configured EVPN signaling peer. This leads to loss of routing adjacencies and a denial‑of‑service condition. CVE‑2026‑102184 affects many versions between 23.4 and 26.2 (S0, S1).

Why does it matter?

A routing daemon failure can halt network traffic and cause service outages; rapid mitigation is critical for critical infrastructure.

What should be done?

  • Review Juniper advisory JSA112187 (S0)
  • Apply a patch when one becomes available; patch status is currently unknown (S0)
  • Restrict EVPN peers outside the trusted domain
  • Implement version tracking and upgrade plan

Show the technical text from the sources

An Improper Validation of Specified Quantity in Input vulnerability in the routing protocol daemon (rpd) of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos Evolved platforms allows a configured EVPN signaling peer to cause an rpd crash via a malformed SRv6 structure carried in an EVPN route update. The result is a denial of service affecting routing adjacencies.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
