BAE Systems Cyberattack Halts Bankruptcy Notices at Every U.S. Federal Court

No Lessons, No Test, No Travel: Dubai Police Bust AED 10,000 Licence Scheme

No travel, no lessons, no test, and a UAE licence at the end of it. That was the promise behind a fake driving licence scheme that Dubai Police say has now been shut down. An eight-member criminal gang has been arrested for fraudulently obtaining driving licences from a neighbouring country for customers who had never been there, then helping them swap those licences for a UAE driving licence. The gang charged AED 10,000 per licence. The arrests were made by Dubai Police's General Department of Criminal Investigation, in cooperation with the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Dubai's Roads an

AI Can’t Judge Your Paper: EU Updates Guidelines on Peer Review and AI Agents

AI agents can now run sequences of research tasks with little human input. The question is who answers for the results. The European Commission has published the fourth version of its ERA Living Guidelines on the responsible use of generative AI in research, and its answer is clear: researchers remain accountable, no matter how much work they hand to an AI agent. Published on 15 October 2026, this is the most comprehensive update since the guidelines first appeared in March 2024. It adds guidance on agentic AI and expands advice on AI use in peer review and proposal evaluation. The previous re

The Essential Eight Is Being Replaced: What Australian Organisations Need to Know

For years, the Essential Eight has been the go-to checklist for Australian organisations defending against cyber attacks. That is now changing. The Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) has launched ASD Essentials, a new cyber security framework that evolves the Essential Eight into a broader set of guidance covering enterprise IT, operational technology and cloud environments. The shift is more than a rebrand. It changes how organisations measure progress, where they focus effort and how they handle environments the original framework was never designed for. Why ASD Essentials Is Replacing the

The 2026 Infostealer Intelligence Shortlist: Top 10 Vendors Security Teams Should Know

Infostealer intelligence has become one of the important tool in cybersecurity as malware has become one of the most efficient tools in a cybercriminal's kit. A single infected laptop can leak saved passwords, browser cookies, autofill data, and enough machine details for an attacker to impersonate the user outright. Stolen session cookies are especially damaging because they let intruders skip multi-factor authentication entirely. That makes the choice of an intelligence vendor in this space an operational decision, not a box-checking exercise. Top 10 Infostealer Intelligence Vendors 1. Cyble

Fake Traffic Challan Texts Are Stealing UPI PINs From Android Users in India

A text message about an unpaid traffic challan could cost Android users in India far more than a fine. GhostBat RAT, an Android malware strain first identified by cybersecurity firm Cyble in October 2025, has evolved to capture PINs from 60 banking, UPI apps, wallet and fintech applications, according to new research published by Cyble. The firm's investigation into fake mParivahan and eChallan apps also exposed a wider operator-controlled ecosystem it tracks as GhostX, linking phishing pages, backend control systems and malware distribution. Inside the Phishing Marketplace Microsoft Just Took Down: 2,300 Fake Templates Exposed

A text alert about an undelivered package or an unpaid toll may look like a one-off scam. A new Microsoft cybercrime crackdown shows it is often the visible end of a much larger operation. Microsoft and Health-ISAC, a global non-profit that helps health sector organizations share cyber threat information and improve operational resilience, have moved to dismantle three services, YAM Store, CoGUI and Iron Man, that supplied criminals worldwide with accounts, hosting and tools to build fake websites and online identities. Since January 2026, the three services have collectively enabled more than
