Short explanation

CVE-2026-98784 is a firmware leak vulnerability in the Linux kernel drm/amdgpu/gfx6 subsystem. When the GFX block is torn down, the requested firmware resources are not released. Affected firmware resources include PFP, ME, CE, and RLC firmware.

Why does it matter?

This vulnerability can cause resource management issues and memory leaks within the Linux kernel. Failing to release resources during GFX block teardown may affect overall system stability.

What should be done?

  • Follow relevant vendor advisories and updates
  • Review the integration of the required correction functions in the kernel code
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

gfx_v6_0_init_microcode ile talep edilen donanım yazılımı, GFX bloğu kapatıldığında serbest bırakılmamaktadır.

PFP, ME, CE ve RLC donanım yazılımlarını serbest bırakmak için gfx_v6_0_free_microcode eklenmeli ve gfx_v6_0_sw_fini içinden çağrılmalıdır.
