Short explanation
A vulnerability has been addressed in the Linux kernel RDMA/efa subsystem stemming from an issue during the completion IRQ handler state and DMA buffer management. The flaw relates to the sequencing of IRQ registration and resource teardown.
System instability or security risks may arise because the IRQ handler accesses uninitialized state or released buffers. The patch status is unknown, and following vendor advisories is recommended.
What should be done?
- Follow vendor advisory documentation
- Review relevant kernel updates
The sources give limited detail on some technical conditions. Review the chain of evidence below before deciding how to act.

Show the technical text from the sources
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/efa: Keep EQ resources alive while IRQ is registered The completion IRQ handler accesses the EQ state and DMA buffer. Its IRQ was registered before that state was initialized, while teardown released the buffer before free_irq() synchronized the handler. Initialize the EQ without arming it, register the IRQ, and then arm it. Reverse the resource order during teardown by freeing the IRQ before destroying the EQ.
