Short explanation

The container_registry_service.go component in Arcane allows the stored encrypted token to be sent to an attacker-controlled host during testing after a registry URL change.

Why does it matter?

This vulnerability exposes stored container registry personal access tokens or passwords, potentially enabling image access or tampering.

What should be done?

  • Upgrade Arcane to version 2.5.0 or later
  • Follow official vendor advisories
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

Arcane 2.5.0 öncesi sürümlerde kimlik bilgisi sızıntısı açığı bulunmaktadır.

Saldırganlar kayıt defteri URL adresini değiştirerek saklanan token verisini elde edebilir.

Show the technical text from the sources

Arcane is an interface for managing Docker containers, images, networks, and volumes. Prior to 2.5.0, UpdateRegistry and TestRegistry in backend/api/services/container_registry_service.go allow the registry URL to change while preserving the stored encrypted token. When a holder of registries:update and registries:test repoints a generic registry URL without supplying a replacement token, TestRegistry decrypts the preserved token and RegistryLogin sends it to the attacker-controlled host because normalizeRegistryServerAddressInternal does not restrict the destination. This exposes the stored container-registry PAT or password and can enable image access or tampering. This issue is fixed in version 2.5.0.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
