Short explanation

NGINX Gateway Fabric contains a vulnerability when configured with Gateway Custom Resource Definition (CRD) and an authenticated gRPC connection with NGINX Agent. An authenticated attacker with access to a service account can read TLS private keys.

Why does it matter?

This vulnerability allows unauthorized access to sensitive TLS private keys across different namespaces within the control plane, resulting in a confidentiality breach.

What should be done?

  • Follow the official vendor advisory
  • Closely monitor updates as patch status remains unverified
Chain of evidence and sources3 verified claims

Description NGINX Gateway Fabric has a vulnerability when it is configured with Gateway Custom Resource Definition (CRD) and have an authenticated gRPC connection with NGINX Agent. A namespaced authenticated attacker with access to a service account may impersonate the authenticated NGINX Agent gRPC connection to read TLS private keys of Gateway deployments in another namespace.  Impact A remote authenticated attacker may be able to read TLS private keys of Gateway deployments in another namespace.  There is no data plane exposure; this is a control plane issue only. Note: Software versions which have reached End of Technical Support (EoTS) are not evaluated.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
