Short explanation
An incorrect authorization vulnerability exists in the Ignition Perspective module of Inductive Automation Ignition software, which fails to properly validate session privileges when determining Designer-level access.
An authenticated attacker can exploit this vulnerability to elevate privileges and execute arbitrary code in the context of the Ignition Gateway process.
What should be done?
- Follow vendor advisories
- Review affected product versions
- Upgrade the product to unaffected versions
Chain of evidence and sources
Ignition Perspective modülü, Designer düzeyinde erişim belirlenirken oturum ayrıcalıklarını düzgün doğrulamamaktadır.
Vision projesine erişimi olan kimliği doğrulanmış bir kullanıcı, geçerli oturum tanımlayıcısını kullanarak Designer düzeyinde ayrıcalıklar kazanabilir.
Yükseltilen bu ayrıcalıklar kullanılarak Ignition Gateway süreci bağlamında rastgele kod çalıştırılabilir.
Show the technical text from the sources
The Ignition Perspective module does not properly validate session privileges when determining Designer-level access. An authenticated user with access to a Vision project could provide their valid Vision session identifier and gain Designer-level privileges. An attacker could exploit these elevated privileges to execute arbitrary code in the context of the Ignition Gateway process.
