Short explanation
A CWE-829 vulnerability in distributed-workloads allows a remote attacker to submit a specially crafted pull request, leading to secret exfiltration and repository control [S0, S1].
This vulnerability carries risks where attackers can compromise sensitive secrets such as SNYK_TOKEN and gain unauthorized access to the Snyk integration [S0, S1].
What should be done?
- Following vendor advisories [S0]
- Reviewing GitHub Actions configurations [S0, S1]

Show the technical text from the sources
A flaw was found in distributed-workloads. A remote attacker could exploit a vulnerability in the pull_request_target workflow by submitting a specially crafted pull request. This workflow processes untrusted code from the pull request author while operating with the base repository's sensitive secrets, such as the SNYK_TOKEN, and its default write token. Consequently, an attacker could exfiltrate these secrets, leading to unauthorized access to the Snyk integration and potential control over the repository.
