Short explanation

RT-Labs AB SOEM version 2.0.0 and earlier contains a memory corruption vulnerability due to an FMMU configuration table overflow. This flaw allows a malicious device to perform out-of-bounds writes and may cause service disruption.

Why does it matter?

The vulnerability can corrupt adjacent memory structures and potentially disrupt subsequent operations. The patch status is currently unknown, and vendor advisories should be monitored.

What should be done?

  • Follow the vendor advisory
  • Update affected SOEM versions
  • Audit device configurations on the network
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

SOEM 2.0.0 ve önceki sürümler, FMMU yapılandırma tablosu taşması nedeniyle bellek bozulması açığı barındırmaktadır.

Yazılım, yapılandırma verilerini sabit boyutlu diziye yazar ancak EC_MAXFMMU girdi sınırını kontrol etmez.

Show the technical text from the sources

SOEM version 2.0.0 and earlier contains a vulnerability during device configuration where a malicious device can cause memory corruption. The software writes configuration data to a fixed-size array without checking if the array index exceeds its maximum size of EC_MAXFMMU entries. A device presenting more than EC_MAXFMMU configuration blocks can force writes beyond the array boundary, corrupting adjacent memory structures and potentially disrupting subsequent operations.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
