Short explanation
In Splunk SOAR versions prior to 8.7.0, an authenticated user without specific permissions can download the Automation Broker configuration file.
Unauthorized users downloading the Docker Compose configuration file leads to the leakage of sensitive details such as the Splunk SOAR instance URL and version information.
What should be done?
- Follow the official security advisory provided by Splunk
- Review role and permission configurations
Chain of evidence and sources
8.7.0 versiyonundan önceki Splunk SOAR sürümleri hassas bilgi ifşası açığından etkilenmektedir.
Kimliği doğrulanmış bir kullanıcı, Automation Broker düzenleme yetkisine sahip olmasa bile Docker Compose yapılandırma dosyasını indirebilir.
Show the technical text from the sources
In Splunk SOAR versions below 8.7.0, an authenticated user who does not hold a role with permission to edit Automation Brokers could download the Splunk SOAR Automation Broker Docker Compose configuration file. The file contains the Uniform Resource Locator (URL) of the Splunk SOAR instance, the container image location, and the Splunk SOAR Automation Broker version. The vulnerability is possible because Splunk SOAR returns the configuration file without enforcing the Automation Broker edit permission.
