Short explanation

CVE-2026-71251: Akaunting's customer portal allows authenticated users to access files from other companies via IDOR in the media download endpoint. Fixed in commit 80ef6d3 (2026-07-12). Patch status is UNKNOWN. No active exploitation reported. CVSS 6.5 (MEDIUM).

Why does it matter?

This IDOR allows lateral access to sensitive company data, posing a risk to data confidentiality. The fix requires implementation and validation in production environments to prevent unauthorized file access.

What should be done?

  • Apply patch from commit 80ef6d3 (2026-07-12)
  • Verify patch via official vendor advisory
  • Ensure ownership validation in download endpoint
Note on uncertainty

The sources give limited detail on some technical conditions. Review the chain of evidence below before deciding how to act.

Chain of evidence and sources3 verified claims

Show the technical text from the sources

Akaunting's shared download route (app/Http/Controllers/Common/Uploads.php::download, reachable at uploads/{id}/download behind only generic auth middleware) fetched the requested Media record by ID with no verification that it belonged to the requesting portal customer's own company, allowing any authenticated portal customer to download any other company's uploaded files by guessing or enumerating media IDs.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
