Short explanation

An account compromise vulnerability exists in OpenReception appointment-booking-software because an invite confirmation token is replayable within its validity window and re-issues a registration-bootstrap cookie (S0).

Why does it matter?

Attackers can capture a pending invite token to register their own passkey on the invited account, taking control of the account and any associated tenant context (S0).

What should be done?

  • Update the software to version 2.2.1 or later (S0)
  • Follow vendor advisories and security bulletins (S0)
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

OpenReception appointment-booking-software sürüm 2.2.1 öncesinde davet onay token'ları geçerlilik süresi içinde yeniden kullanılabilir.

Saldırganlar yakalanan davet token'ı ile hesaplar üzerinde kendi passkey kimlik bilgilerini kaydedebilir.

Show the technical text from the sources

OpenReception's appointment booking software provides an end-to-end encrypted appointment booking platform. Prior to version 2.2.1, an attacker who captures a pending invite token can replay it to obtain a passkey-registration credential and register their own passkey on the invited account, taking control of that account. For a staff or tenant-admin invite this yields access to the tenant context tied to that account. This issue has been patched in version 2.2.1.
