Short explanation

ConvertX prior to version 0.18.0 lacks CSRF protection on the /delete/{id} endpoint. This vulnerability allows an attacker to cause unauthorized loss of converted-file history by tricking an authenticated user into visiting malicious content that triggers an HTTP GET deletion request.

Why does it matter?

When an authenticated user visits attacker-controlled content, the browser transmits the user session cookie, triggering the deletion of targeted jobs and resulting in unauthorized file history loss.

What should be done?

  • Upgrade ConvertX to version 0.18.0
  • Follow vendor security advisories
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

ConvertX, 0.18.0 öncesi sürümlerde /delete/{id} uç noktasında CSRF koruması içermez.

Zafiyet, sürüm 0.18.0 ile giderilmiştir.

Show the technical text from the sources

ConvertX is a self-hosted file conversion service. Prior to 0.18.0, the /delete/{id} endpoint uses HTTP GET for permanent deletion without CSRF protection. If an authenticated user visits attacker-controlled content that requests /delete/{id}, the browser sends the user session cookie and the request deletes the targeted job, resulting in unauthorized loss of converted-file history. This issue is fixed in version 0.18.0.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
