Short explanation

VitaFit Android application versions prior to 2.8.1.0 contain an insecure TLS/SSL certificate validation vulnerability, allowing network-based attackers to intercept and modify HTTPS traffic.

Why does it matter?

Attackers can perform man-in-the-middle attacks to capture user sessions and health-related API data, and use captured sessions to delete authentication records.

What should be done?

  • Follow vendor advisories.
  • Upgrade the application to a supported version if available.

Show the technical text from the sources

VitaFit Android application (com.vt.vitafit) before 2.8.1.0 contains an insecure TLS/SSL certificate validation vulnerability that allows network-based attackers to intercept and modify HTTPS traffic by exploiting a custom X509TrustManager that trusts all certificates and a hostname verifier that accepts any hostname. Attackers can perform a man-in-the-middle attack to capture account sessions and health-related API data, and use a captured session to delete the account's authentication record and prevent legitimate login.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
