Short explanation
Admidio before 5.0.10 suffers from a CSRF vulnerability in the SSO client 'enable' action, allowing unauthorized state changes. Version 5.0.10 includes a fix. Patch status is UNKNOWN based on available evidence.
This vulnerability enables attackers to disable SSO clients, disrupting authentication for downstream applications. It poses a significant risk to systems relying on SSO for identity management. Patch status is UNKNOWN, requiring vendor confirmation for remediation.
What should be done?
- Upgrade to Admidio 5.0.10 or later
- Verify vendor advisory for official patch details
The sources give limited detail on some technical conditions. Review the chain of evidence below before deciding how to act.
Chain of evidence and sources
Show the technical text from the sources
Admidio is an open-source user management solution. Prior to version 5.0.10, `modules/sso/clients.php` validates an `adm_csrf_token` on every state-changing branch except `enable`. The `enable` case loads the SAML or OIDC client by UUID, calls `$client->enable($enabled)`, and persists the new state with no token check. Because the action is reachable via plain GET parameters, a third-party page can trick an authenticated administrator into disabling (or silently re-enabling) any configured SAML or OIDC client. Disabling an SSO client breaks every downstream relying-party application that authenticates through it. Version 5.0.10 contains a fix.
