Short explanation

A signature verification vulnerability (CVE-2026-33923) in Guardian and CMC before versions 26.4.0 allows an attacker with administrative privileges to supply a crafted update bundle that bypasses signature verification and executes an unsigned script.

Why does it matter?

This flaw allows attackers to execute an unsigned script with root privileges, enabling them to read or modify sensitive data, change appliance configuration, or shut down the appliance.

What should be done?

  • Follow the vendor advisory.
  • Review the corresponding security bulletin for update details.
  • Monitor guidance for versions 26.4.0 and later.

Show the technical text from the sources

A signature verification vulnerability was discovered in the update installation functionality due to inconsistent validation of the update bundle contents. An attacker with administrative privileges can remotely supply a crafted update bundle that passes signature verification but runs an unsigned script when the bundle is installed. The script runs with root privileges, allowing the attacker to read or modify sensitive data, change the appliance configuration, or shut down the appliance.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
