Short explanation

A high-severity vulnerability in Keycloak's SAML metadata import allows unauthenticated attackers to forge SAML responses and gain unauthorized access to user accounts. No official patch status is available. The issue affects Red Hat Build of Keycloak and related products. No active exploitation is confirmed.

Why does it matter?

This flaw allows attackers to bypass signature validation and impersonate users, leading to unauthorized access. It affects identity management systems and poses a significant risk to user data integrity. No patch status is confirmed, leaving systems exposed until official remediation is released.

What should be done?

  • Follow official Red Hat advisory for patching
  • Do not use SAML metadata import without validation
  • Monitor for CVE-2026-16443 in production environments
Chain of evidence and sources3 verified claims

Show the technical text from the sources

A flaw was found in the SAML metadata import functionality of the keycloak-services component, which is the core engine for identity brokering in Red Hat Build of Keycloak. When importing identity provider metadata that lacks specific usage attributes for keys, the system incorrectly disables signature validation for SAML responses even if a signing certificate is provided. This issue allows an unauthenticated attacker to forge a SAML response and gain unauthorized access to a user account by knowing their external identifier.
