Short explanation

Ground Station versions 0.6.0 through 0.8.20 contain a vulnerability where the get-orbital-sources handler lacks authorization restrictions, allowing authenticated users to retrieve sensitive credentials.

Why does it matter?

Authenticated operator-role users can read plaintext usernames, passwords, and tokens stored by administrators.

What should be done?

  • Follow vendor advisories
  • Apply available updates

Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

Show the technical text from the sources

Ground Station from 0.6.0 before 0.8.20 does not restrict the get-orbital-sources Socket.IO handler (also exposed as get-tle-sources) to administrators, although the orbital-source write handlers are admin-only. An authenticated operator-role user can call either handler to retrieve the plaintext usernames, passwords, and tokens that administrators stored for basic and token orbital sources.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
