Short explanation
The ConnectionManager.connect function in OpenBMB Internet of Agents’ WebSocket Connection Manager lacks authentication when the agent_name argument is manipulated. The attack can be launched remotely and a public exploit exists. The product uses rolling releases, so the exact affected version is not disclosed. (S0, S1)
Bypassing authentication can grant unauthorized access and enable further lateral movement by an attacker.
What should be done?
- Monitor vendor advisory for updates
- Enforce authentication in the code
- Restrict network access with firewalls and segmentation
- Track patches since status is UNKNOWN
The sources give limited detail on some technical conditions. Review the chain of evidence below before deciding how to act.
