Short explanation
The MotoPress Appointment Booking Lite plugin versions up to 2.4.8 contain an unauthenticated stored XSS vulnerability in the '/motopress/appointment/v1/customers/create' REST endpoint. An attacker can inject malicious script via the 'name' parameter, which is later rendered unsanitized in the admin bookings list for users lacking the 'mpa_edit_customer' capability. The issue is not listed in the CISA KEV program and its patch status is reported as UNKNOWN.
The injected script can run in the admin interface, enabling session theft or privilege escalation.
What should be done?
- Monitor the vendor advisory and apply a patch when released
- Add input validation and sanitization for the 'name' parameter
- Require authentication for the REST endpoint
- Block script‑laden requests with a web application firewall (WAF)
- Enforce least‑privilege for critical user roles
The sources give limited detail on some technical conditions. Review the chain of evidence below before deciding how to act.

The MotoPress Appointment Booking Lite plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting in versions up to, and including, 2.4.8 via the public '/motopress/appointment/v1/customers/create' REST endpoint. The route is registered with permission_callback => '__return_true' and the handler's 'name' parameter is not sanitized before being written to the custom wp_mpa_customers table via $wpdb->insert, nor is it escaped on output in the admin bookings list when the viewing user lacks the 'mpa_edit_customer' capability (such as the plugin-defined Appointment Employee role). This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
