Short explanation

Versions up to 1.0.6 of the Contact Form Extender for Divi Builder plugin allow unauthenticated attackers to delete arbitrary files on the server due to insufficient path validation in cfefd_remove_uploaded_file(). This can lead to remote code execution if critical files such as wp‑config.php are removed. No active exploitation is known and patch status is unknown.

Why does it matter?

High impact (C:H) and lack of authentication enable attackers to delete critical files and potentially take over the site.

What should be done?

  • Patch status unknown; monitor vendor advisory (S0)
  • Upgrade to a patched version if released
  • Implement proper path sanitization to block traversal
  • Stop exposing the nonce publicly
  • Temporarily disable the vulnerable plugin
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

Contact Form Extender for Divi Builder eklentisinin 0‑1.0.6 sürümleri, yol geçişi nedeniyle yetkisiz dosya silmeye açıktır (S0, S1).

Yama durumu resmi kaynaklarda doğrulanamadı; bu, yama yok anlamına gelmez (S0).

Show the technical text from the sources

The Contact Form Extender for Divi Builder plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Arbitrary File Deletion due to insufficient file path validation in the cfefd_remove_uploaded_file() function in all versions up to, and including, 1.0.6. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to delete arbitrary files on the server, which can easily lead to remote code execution when the right file is deleted (such as wp-config.php). The nonce protecting this AJAX action is rendered into the public page source via wp_localize_script and is therefore retrievable by any unauthenticated visitor.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
