Short explanation

Prior to version 1.51.0, @zuke/core launches resolved Windows .cmd and .bat shims by prepending cmd /c. This causes cmd.exe to reparse the command line, enabling attackers to execute additional commands.

Why does it matter?

Attackers can execute additional commands within the build context with access to its credentials. This poses a high risk to confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

What should be done?

  • Upgrade to version 1.51.0 or later
  • Follow vendor advisories for updates
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

Zuke sürüm 1.51.0 öncesinde @zuke/core, Windows .cmd ve .bat betiklerini cmd /c ekleyerek başlatır ve komut satırının yeniden ayrıştırılmasına neden olur.

Windows üzerinde çalışan ve node_modules/.bin yolundan araç çözen bir yapı, tırnak içine alınmamış karakterler içeren saldırgan girdileriyle ek komutlar çalıştırabilir.

Show the technical text from the sources

Zuke is a code-first, strongly typed build automation system for Deno. Prior to 1.51.0, @zuke/core launches resolved Windows .cmd and .bat shims by prepending cmd /c, causing cmd.exe to reparse a command line assembled with C-runtime quoting rules. A build running on Windows that resolves a tool from node_modules/.bin and passes attacker-influenced text containing an unquoted &, |, or ^ metacharacter can execute an additional attacker-chosen command in the build's context with access to its credentials. POSIX platforms are not affected. This issue is fixed in version 1.51.0.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
