Short explanation
Wasmtime before 36.0.18, 37.0.0 before 48.0.6, and 49.0.0 before 49.0.3 caps component-model resource handle tables only per component instance and does not charge handle allocations to any ResourceLimiter or StoreLimits. A malicious guest can repeatedly call resource.new and instantiate sub-components to exceed the per-instance cap, causing unbounded host memory growth.
This vulnerability allows malicious guests to exhaust host memory resources without bounds, potentially leading to denial of service conditions on affected environments.
What should be done?
- Follow vendor advisories and security updates
- Plan migration to unaffected versions

Chain of evidence and sources
Wasmtime, bileşen modeli kaynak tanıtıcı tablolarını yalnızca örnek başına sınırlar ve ResourceLimiter veya StoreLimits tahsisatlarını ücretlendirmez.
Kötü amaçlı bir konuk, resource.new işlevini tekrarlayarak ve alt bileşenler örnekleyerek sınırları aşabilir ve sınırsız ana makine bellek büyümesine neden olabilir.
