Short explanation

Kener versions 3.0.0 before 4.1.10 contain an authentication bypass vulnerability due to a hardcoded DUMMY_SECRET fallback key, allowing attackers to forge session tokens and gain administrative privileges.

Why does it matter?

Unauthorized attackers can access API endpoints with full administrative privileges or forge password-reset tokens.

What should be done?

  • Update Kener to version 4.1.10 or later
  • Follow vendor advisories and security guidance
  • Ensure the KENER_SECRET_KEY configuration is properly set
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

Kener 3.0.0 sürümünden 4.1.10 öncesine kadar olan sürümler, sabit kodlanmış DUMMY_SECRET anahtarı üzerinden kimlik doğrulama atlatma zafiyetine karşı etkilidir.

Saldırganlar, KENER_SECRET_KEY boş olduğunda kener-user çerezini imzalayarak tam yönetici yetkileri elde edebilir.

Show the technical text from the sources

Kener 3.0.0 before 4.1.10 contains an authentication bypass vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to forge session tokens by using the hardcoded DUMMY_SECRET fallback key. When KENER_SECRET_KEY is empty or unset, attackers knowing an administrator email can sign a kener-user cookie to access /manage/api with full administrative privileges or forge password-reset tokens.
