Short explanation
A vulnerability exists in Parse Server where the entire login request is saved with master privileges when issuing an SMS multi-factor authentication verification code. An SMS MFA-enrolled user can include extra fields in that request to modify master-key-restricted fields on their own account.
This flaw allows SMS MFA-enrolled users to make unauthorized modifications to their own accounts and manipulate normally protected fields.
What should be done?
- Follow vendor advisories
- Apply updates for affected versions
Chain of evidence and sources
Parse Server before 8.6.104 ve 9.0.0 before 9.10.5-alpha.5 sürümleri SMS MFA doğrulama kodu yayınlanırken tüm oturum açma isteğini master yetkileriyle kaydeder.
SMS MFA kayıtlı bir kullanıcı, bu isteğe ekstra alanlar dahil ederek kendi hesabındaki master anahtarla kısıtlanmış alanları değiştirebilir.
