Short explanation
An uncontrolled recursion vulnerability CVE-2026-115290 in Elasticsearch can lead to denial of service. An unauthenticated attacker with network access to the remote cluster server interface can send specially crafted requests causing node termination.
This vulnerability allows unauthenticated attackers with network access to perform denial-of-service attacks, compromising system availability by targeting reachable nodes.
What should be done?
- Follow vendor advisories
- Apply official updates
- Review network access controls
