Short explanation
A proxy endpoint in the TYPO3 Extension "Kitodo.Presentation" bypasses authorization checks for one HTTP request method. An unauthenticated attacker can exploit this to force the server to send requests to arbitrary internal or external hosts while receiving status codes and headers.
This vulnerability allows unauthenticated attackers to probe internal hosts and ports, facilitating internal network reconnaissance.
What should be done?
- Follow the vendor security advisory.
- Check for available updates and patches.
Chain of evidence and sources
Extension "Kitodo.Presentation", ziyaretçi adına URL getiren genel bir proxy uç noktası sağlamaktadır.
Bir HTTP istek yöntemi için yetkilendirme denetiminin eksik olması, saldırganın URL'yi tam olarak kontrol etmesine imkan tanır.
Saldırgan durum kodunu ve seçilen yanıt başlıklarını alarak dahili host ve portları tarayabilir.
Show the technical text from the sources
The extension provides a public proxy endpoint that fetches a URL on behalf of the visitor. For one HTTP request method, the endpoint does not apply the authorization check that protects the other methods, so the URL it fetches is fully controlled by the requester. An unauthenticated attacker can make the server send requests to arbitrary internal or external hosts. The attacker receives the status code and selected response headers, which allows probing of internal hosts and ports. Response bodies are not disclosed.
