Short explanation
Versions of Coder prior to 2.34.7 are affected by an IP spoofing vulnerability in the ExtractRealIPAddress middleware. This flaw allows attackers to manipulate X-Forwarded-For headers to bypass per-IP rate limits on login, password validation, and one-time passcode endpoints, and to falsify IP addresses recorded in audit logs.
This vulnerability enables attackers to bypass rate limits when targeting authentication endpoints with brute-force attacks and allows the falsification of IP traces in audit logs.
What should be done?
- Update Coder to version 2.34.7 or an unaffected version
- Follow official vendor advisory documentation
- Review reverse proxy and middleware IP configurations

Chain of evidence and sources
Coder 2.34.7 öncesi sürümler, ExtractRealIPAddress ara yazılımında IP spoofing zafiyeti barındırmaktadır.
Saldırganlar sahte X-Forwarded-For değerleri göndererek hız sınırlamalarını atlatabilir ve denetim kayıtlarını sahteleştirebilir.
Show the technical text from the sources
Coder before 2.34.7 contains an IP spoofing vulnerability in the ExtractRealIPAddress middleware that trusts the leftmost, client-supplied X-Forwarded-For value instead of the client IP appended by a reverse proxy. Attackers can send forged X-Forwarded-For values through appending proxies to bypass per-IP rate limits on login, one-time passcode, and password validation endpoints, enabling brute-force attacks, and to falsify IP addresses recorded in audit logs.
