Short explanation
Chaskiq through version 2.0.3 contains a server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability via the url parameter of the /oembed endpoint. This unauthenticated flaw allows attackers to read internal page titles and descriptions.
This unauthenticated SSRF vulnerability allows attackers to target loopback, private, or cloud-metadata addresses. Due to FetchLinkCardService following redirects and skipping TLS verification, internal data exposure risks are significantly increased.
What should be done?
- Follow vendor advisories for updates
- Upgrade the application to a non-affected version
- Validate input supplied to the url parameter in the /oembed endpoint
