Short explanation
FastapiAdmin through version 3.0 contains a hard-coded JWT signing secret in backend/app/config/setting.py. This flaw allows low-privileged users to forge tokens impersonating the superuser and gain elevated privileges.
The hard-coded JWT secret enables attackers to bypass authentication controls and gain superuser privileges. Sources exhibit conflicts regarding the CVSS base score.
What should be done?
- Follow official vendor advisories for updates
- Replace hard-coded secrets with secure, dynamic values
- Strengthen authentication and JWT signature verification mechanisms

Chain of evidence and sources
Show the technical text from the sources
FastapiAdmin through 3.0 contains a hard-coded JWT signing secret in backend/app/config/setting.py that allows low-privileged users to forge tokens impersonating the superuser. Attackers can register via the unauthenticated /api/v1/system/user/register endpoint, log in, and forge an HS256 token keeping their session_id but naming the superuser in user_name to gain superuser privileges.
