Short explanation

smart-sso through 2.1.1 contains an open redirect vulnerability in the /login handler due to an unvalidated redirectUri parameter. Unauthenticated attackers can send crafted links to users with active SSO sessions to steal OAuth2 authorization codes and obtain victims access tokens.

Why does it matter?

This vulnerability allows attackers to compromise victims OAuth2 authorization codes and obtain access tokens using valid client credentials. Sources conflict regarding the CVSS base score and severity rating.

What should be done?

  • Follow vendor advisories and updates
