Short explanation
The Hippoo Mobile App for WooCommerce plugin versions up to and including 1.12.0 contain a Reflected Cross-Site Scripting flaw in the 'token_id' parameter due to insufficient input sanitization. An unauthenticated attacker can craft a malicious URL and trick a user into clicking it, causing arbitrary JavaScript to execute in the browser.
This istismar can expose user session cookies and credentials, compromising both user privacy and site integrity.
What should be done?
- Monitor vendor advisories and apply the forthcoming update when released
- Implement robust input validation and output escaping
- Deploy WordPress security plugins for detection and protection
- Log and review suspicious REST requests
- Conduct code review to harden the REST handler

Show the technical text from the sources
The Hippoo Mobile App for WooCommerce plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Reflected Cross-Site Scripting via the 'token_id' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 1.12.0 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that execute if they can successfully trick a user into performing an action such as clicking on a link. The URL path regex constrains the path segment to word characters, but WP_REST_Request's query-string parameter precedence allows a ?token_id= value to override it and reach the handler verbatim, bypassing the regex constraint entirely.
