Short explanation
LightLLM through version 1.2.0 contains an unauthenticated denial of service vulnerability via the internal pd_kv_trans_params field sent to the /generate endpoint.
This vulnerability allows unauthenticated attackers to crash the inference worker, causing subsequent requests to hang and resulting in service disruption until a restart.
What should be done?
- Follow vendor advisories as patch status is unknown
- Check the official repository for updates
- Restrict network-level access to the service

Show the technical text from the sources
LightLLM through 1.2.0 contains a denial of service vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to crash the inference worker by supplying the internal pd_kv_trans_params field to the /generate endpoint. Attackers can send a single request whose parameters cause pickle.loads to fail in InferSamplingParams, killing the inference thread while /health stays up and all later requests hang until restart.
