Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability in DesignSetGo Plugin

Short explanation

The DesignSetGo plugin for WordPress up to version 2.11.0 is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'tagName' block attribute due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping.

Why does it matter?

It allows authenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages. However, successful exploitation requires an administrator to execute the plugin's block-conversion migration.

What should be done?

  • Follow official vendor advisories for patch availability.
  • Keep the plugin updated.
  • Monitor administrative actions and block migration processes.
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

DesignSetGo eklentisinin 2.11.0 ve önceki sürümleri 'tagName' özniteliği nedeniyle Stored XSS zafiyeti barındırmaktadır.

Başarılı bir istismar, bir yöneticinin eklentinin blok dönüştürme migrasyonunu çalıştırmasını gerektirir.

Show the technical text from the sources

The DesignSetGo plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'tagName' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 2.11.0 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. Successful exploitation requires an administrator to run the plugin's block-conversion migration ("Scan & Convert Blocks" during deactivation), which triggers the vulnerable build_group_block() function and promotes the dormant payload from a block delimiter comment into live post_content HTML. Successful exploitation additionally requires an action by an administrator — the attacker cannot trigger the vulnerability on their own.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
