Short explanation

Sunshine, a self-hosted game stream host for Moonlight, contains an incorrect authorization vulnerability (CWE-863) where it accepted any client certificate chaining to a stored paired-client certificate without requiring the exact enabled paired identity [S0]. This vulnerability carries a CVSS base score of 7.6 according to S0.

Why does it matter?

A previously paired client retaining its private key can present an alternate certificate to bypass the Disable control and impact system confidentiality and integrity [S0].

What should be done?

  • Update the software to version 2026.906.222525 [S0].
  • Remove the paired client to eliminate the trust relationship [S0].
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

Sunshine, 2026.329.165800 ile 2026.906.222525 sürümleri arasında yanlış yetkilendirme zafiyetinden etkilenmektedir [S0].

Bu zafiyet 2026.906.222525 sürümünde giderilmiştir [S0].

Show the technical text from the sources

Sunshine is a self-hosted game stream host for Moonlight. From 2026.329.165800 until 2026.906.222525, Sunshine accepted any client certificate that chained to a stored paired-client certificate, but it did not require the presented certificate to be the exact enabled paired identity. Certificate text was also compared without canonicalizing equivalent PEM encodings. A previously paired client that retains its private key can present an alternate certificate derived from its paired certificate and bypass the Disable control. Equivalent PEM encodings could also cause inconsistent client identity handling. A client that was never paired cannot use this issue, and removing the paired client removes its trust relationship. This issue is fixed in version 2026.906.222525.
