Short explanation
The JITServer component in Eclipse OpenJ9 versions is vulnerable to denial of service due to improper boundary checks during protocol message processing. S0, S1
Unauthenticated remote attackers can send crafted network payloads to crash the JITServer daemon or client JVM processes. S0, S1
What should be done?
- Monitor vendor advisories
- Apply relevant updates
- Review network segmentation
Chain of evidence and sources
Eclipse OpenJ9 sürümlerinde JITServer bileşeni, mesaj ayrıştırma sırasındaki sınır denetimi eksiklikleri nedeniyle hizmet engelleme zafiyetine tabidir. S0, S1
Saldırganlar, ağ üzerinden ilettikleri yüklerle bellek okuma hatalarına yol açarak JITServer daemon sürecini çökletebilir. S0, S1
Show the technical text from the sources
In Eclipse OpenJ9 versions up to 0.63.0, the JITServer component is vulnerable to denial of service due to improper boundary checks during protocol message and reply handling. An unauthenticated remote attacker or malicious JITServer can transmit malformed network payloads that cause out-of-bounds heap reads, immediately crashing the JITServer daemon or client JVM process via a segmentation fault (SIGSEGV).
