Short explanation
A deserialization of untrusted data vulnerability in the Gremlin graph data import component of the Amazon Neptune engine may allow an authenticated remote actor with standard database permissions to execute arbitrary code and access internal service credentials.
This critical vulnerability allows users with standard database privileges to execute code remotely and compromise sensitive internal service credentials.
What should be done?
- Upgrading users not enrolled in auto-update to Amazon Neptune engine version 1.5.0.0
- Applying backports provided for 1.4.8.x and 1.4.7.x versions
- Following vendor advisories
Chain of evidence and sources
