Short explanation

An information exposure vulnerability in evolution-data-server (CVE-2026-110777) allows local files to be read and uploaded back to the server via malicious calendar events in shared CalDAV calendars [S0]. This flaw requires user interaction and authentication [S0]. The patch status remains unconfirmed in official sources [S0].

Why does it matter?

This vulnerability allows an attacker with shared calendar access to exfiltrate sensitive local files accessible to the user [S0]. Such behavior increases the risk of unauthorized data exposure and privacy breaches [S0].

What should be done?

  • Follow vendor advisories as the patch status is currently unknown [S0].
  • Avoid interacting with suspicious or unknown calendar events in shared calendars [S0].
  • Review CalDAV calendar access permissions and shared content [S0].

Show the technical text from the sources

A flaw was found in evolution-data-server. Calendar events containing a file:// URI in their ATTACH property automatically read the targeted local file, base64-encode its contents and upload it back to the server when the event is saved. There are no file path restrictions or checks to verify whether the attachment originally came from the server or was added locally. This allows an attacker with access to a shared CalDAV calendar to exfiltrate arbitrary files the user has access to when interacting with malicious calendar events.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.

Public exploit and active exploitation status

Verified exploit intelligence

No verified public PoC, exploit repository or Metasploit module has been found for this CVE yet.
