Short explanation
Frappe ERPNext versions before 15.112.0 and 16.x before 16.23.0 contain a configuration field writable by common operational roles that accepts arbitrary outbound destinations without validation. An authenticated attacker can set the field to internal‑only hosts, causing the server to issue requests and enabling SSRF exploitation.
SSRF can expose internal services, leading to data leakage and system compromise.
What should be done?
- Restrict write permissions on the field
- Validate outbound request URLs
- Follow vendor advisory
- Upgrade to a patched version when available

Frappe ERPNext before 15.112.0 and 16.x before 16.23.0 contains a server-side request forgery vulnerability caused by a configuration field, writable by common operational roles, that accepts an arbitrary outbound request destination without validation. Authenticated attackers can set the field to hosts of their choosing, making the server issue requests to addresses reachable only from inside the deployment's network.
